About The Borders Menopause Clinic
The Borders Menopause Clinic was established in 2022 by Dr Rebecca Smithson who graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2000. She worked as a GP at Coldstream Health Centre for 13 years, and worked as a GP in Palliative Care at the Margaret Kerr Unit at the Borders General Hospital for 10 years.
Rebecca is a qualified Western Medical Acupuncturist and is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society, as well as holding a diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and a Postgraduate Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring. She teaches advanced communication skills to a variety of healthcare practitioners, and has training in cognitive behaviour therapy. Outside of working hours, Rebecca is a Director of the MacRobert Trust; a Civilian Instructor with the RAF Air Cadets and a keen ultramarathon runner. |
The Borders Menopause Clinic works closely with Ruth Devlin, Nurse Educator and founder of Let's Talk Menopause. Together, we deliver information and education to individuals, groups, workplaces, and professionals.
Ruth is also passionate about a holistic approach to health, and is a qualified reflexologist as well as having training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Ruth enjoys walking, cycling and tennis, she's a fantastic cook, very talented with arts and crafts, and is an all round font of wisdom. |
